Mitch Jefferson, PGA - Head Golf Professional

Mitchell Jefferson has been the PGA Head Professional at RCC since 2019. He is a PGA Member withMitchSuit1 over a decade of experience in golf operations, player development, and member engagement at private clubs. Since earning PGA Membership in 2010, Mitchell has built a reputation for delivering exceptional golf experiences while fostering strong relationships with members, guests, and staff.

Throughout his career, Mitchell has overseen daily golf operations, tournament programming, merchandising, and staff leadership, with a particular focus on enhancing pace of play, increasing participation in member events and leagues, and maintaining high standards of service. His approach combines traditional club values with innovative programming designed to grow the game and strengthen club culture.

Mitchell is passionate about player development at all levels and takes pride in creating welcoming, organized, and enjoyable environments that reflect the club’s mission and values. He remains committed to professional growth and continuous improvement within the PGA of America and Rochester Country Club.

Brett Smestad, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional
 
Brett Smestad grew up in nearby Stratham, NH and picked up an interest in golf around the age of 10. BrettPic By 14 he began working at Portsmouth Country Club as a cart and range attendant, where he stayed for a few years through high school. Brett attended Clemson University where he acquired a degree in Professional Golf Management with a minor in Business Administration. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Denver with some college friends where he began his professional career by working at Castle Pines Golf Club, a prestigious private club in Castle Rock, CO.

After spending several years in Colorado, Brett moved back to the seacoast of New Hampshire in 2012. Since being back he spent 3 seasons as the Assistant Golf Professional at The Oaks and 2 seasons as the Assistant Golf Professional at The Ledges in York, ME. Both facilities were instrumental in honing his skills as an instructor, event coordinator, and supervisor. Additionally, Brett is an accomplished player with numerous individual and team wins in the New England PGA Section and New Hampshire PGA Chapter. His extensive knowledge of the game paired with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills makes him an easy choice as a golf instructor. We are grateful to have Brett as part of our RCC family.
